Kuurakka - reindeer experience combines the serene beauty of the Arctic wilderness and the deep-rooted traditions of Sámi reindeer herding.
The tour begins by hopping into reindeer-pulled sleighs and letting the reindeer caravan guide us through the frozen swamps and snow-covered forests. Along the way, you get to enjoy postcard sceneries and the healing silence of untouched nature.
After the half-hour sleigh ride, we feed the reindeer, take photos, and gather in a warm kota hut to enjoy a cup of hot berry juice and homemade pastries. You’ll also hear fascinating stories about reindeer herding and local Sámi culture.
The reindeer caravan is led by your farm hosts, so you can simply relax, open your senses, and enjoy the peace of the moment. Normally, two people share one sleigh. Wool blankets are provided, but please note that winter clothing is not included.
